FAQs

Have a question about a profile or your project? Contact our team.

What are Genia interior linings?

Genia interior linings are solid timber wall and ceiling profiles, designed and made in New Zealand. Fluted, ribbed and sculptural profiles add warmth, depth and texture to interior spaces.

Are they made from real solid timber?

Yes. Genia linings are machined from premium solid timber — not a veneer — and are a minimum of 9mm thick.

What profiles are available?

The range includes the Castlepoint, Mount Hutt, Ninety Mile, Egmont and Anatori profiles, plus the deeper Signature range. Most come as a standard (flat-surface) profile with a matching radius profile for curves.

What timber species can I choose?

Made to order in New Zealand Radiata Pine, American White Oak, European Beech or Tasmanian Oak. FSC-certified timber is available on request.

Can they be used on curved surfaces?

Yes. Each range includes a matching radius profile that wraps around columns and curved walls, with minimum curve radii from 100mm depending on the profile.

Where can Genia linings be used?

Walls, ceilings, bar and bench fronts, cabinetry and curved surfaces — in both residential and commercial interiors.

Are they suitable for kitchens or bathrooms?

They can be used in kitchens and bathrooms where they are not exposed to direct or constant moisture. Moisture sealers can extend their use to more challenging areas — talk to our team about your project.

How are they installed?

Standard profiles use a concealed, click-together hidden-fastening system. Profiles are supplied in lengths and can be cut to length on site for a clean, fastener-free finish.

What is the fire rating?

Genia interior linings achieve a Group 3 fire rating uncoated, suitable for most residential use. With a FireZone intumescent coating they can achieve up to Group 1-S for commercial projects.

Can I order samples or match a colour and finish?

Yes. Profiles are made to order with colour matching and a range of finishes available. Contact our team to request samples before you order.

Is there a warranty?

Genia interior linings are backed by Genia's product warranty. Full technical, installation, fire-rating and warranty documentation is available on request.
